Founder Kate Deane knew that there was a need and a desire for greater environmental sustainability in the community, but the tools, infrastructure and products just weren't readily available. Her personal experience and professional life as a chef have shown her how wasteful our society can be, and this has shaped her belief in a new way of living — a less materialistic and less consumeristic society. 
Kate is driven by the belief that we can build a more sustainable and environmentally attentive society. She has always endeavoured to help friends and relatives collect single-use plastics that cannot be recycled via normal channels - to reuse and recycle responsibly. 
Kate has a young family of her own, and to encourage awareness and change, not only for her family, but for the wider community, she set forth realising her dream, by establishing the Eco Refill Station.
